Anwar Orders Halt to Endorsement-Based Lending at Bumiputera Agencies
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has instructed Bumiputera development agencies to stop approving loans solely on the basis of endorsement letters, after discovering that some borrowers diverted startup capital into personal luxuries rather than genuine business ventures.
