Japan Executes Death Row Inmate Under New Prime Minister Takaichi
Japan has executed Sunao Takami, 58, marking the first capital punishment carried out under newly installed Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. Takami was convicted of a deadly 2009 arson attack at an Osaka pachinko parlour that killed five people.
