Typhoon Dolphin swept into densely populated eastern China on Sunday with maximum winds exceeding 150 kilometres per hour, forcing the cancellation of nearly 1,400 flights from Shanghai alone and prompting the evacuation of nearly 100,000 residents from vulnerable areas.
