Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has met with Singapore Grand Prix officials to discuss Malaysia's anticipated return to the Formula 1 calendar at Sepang International Circuit.

Petronas has clarified that while it holds naming rights to Sepang International Circuit, it does not manage operations or ticket distribution for the upcoming Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix scheduled for October 2026.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has dismissed concerns about prohibitive costs for hosting Formula 1 races in Malaysia, stating the government's existing RM16 million annual budget for maintaining Sepang International Circuit is sufficient.
